My name is Kathy and I have two Bachelor's Degrees from Keene State College one in Elementary Education and one in Mathematics with a focus on Elementary Mathematics. I was a licensed public school teacher in New Hampshire, where I taught Kindergarten before moving to Worcester in 2006. I hold a license as a Preschool teacher here in Massachusetts and taught Preschool from 2006-2011 in a daycare setting. I have two young children of my own as well as 13+ years experience working in daycare centers. I participate in the Yours For Children USDA Food Program. While your child will have structured time, they will also be given ample free play time as I believe children learn through play. A typical day would include a nutritious breakfast, potty time, outdoor time, nutritious snack, activity time (art, craft, game or skill work), circle time, calender (month, days of week), weather, songs, a discussion and story), choice time with books, puzzles or games (during lunch prep), nutritious lunch, rest period, nutritious snack, outdoor time and free play until departure. Though our timing may vary depending on the events of the day and the children in attendance the sequence of the schedule is kept the same. This way the children learn the routine and know what is expected and what they will be doing next.
